SPIRITUAL ENHANCEMENT
Mangalayatan University, founded on the best tenets of Jainism, is home to students of all religions, from all walks of life. At MU, we encourage students to discover their spiritual being and offer them a variety of avenues to do this. From yoga lessons to religious discourses to landmark religious monuments on campus, students have several salubrious influences on their lives throughout their stay on campus.
In December 2010, several students and faculty played gracious host to the grand inauguration of the Jain temple on the MU campus.
For nearly 10 days, the campus was host to over 10,000 resident devotees and a further 5,000-10,000 daily visitors. This Panchkalyanak function was attended by prominent Jain personalities from the USA, Europe, Kenya, the Middle East and all over India.
We believe that several socially-minded, selfless initiatives undertaken by the MU community have their roots in the firm cultural values they see around them and imbibe. These experiences constitute a vital ingredient in the development of our students' world-view.
MUSIC CLUB
Comprised of music enthusiasts from all disciplines, this club is a joint initiative of students and faculty. With the Institute of Visual, Performing Arts & Research, faculty being renowned exponents of several instruments and forms of music, this club is rich with their guidance, ability and involvement. In fact, several students from engineering and management streams opt to earn an extra diploma pursuing their musical passion.
The club has organized several concerts starring renowned musicians. In addition, at every Institute function, the club makes it a point to put up a show befitting the gravity of the occasion. They are omnipresent mood-setters during religious functions of all kinds. With their immense talent and skill, they play an invaluable role in enlivening the campus environment. New entrants with a musical bent are actively sought out and assimilated into this vibrant club.
DRAMATICS CLUB
Boasting of a large number of drama enthusiasts, the Dramatics Club at MU is one of its most active. With each significant occasion, festival or campus event comes a street play, a stage show, a variety piece or a mime of high artistic quality. Upon entry into MU, many students make a beeline to enroll in this club.
The Dramatics Club has represented MU in youth festivals and held exclusive shows during various other activities and lends its flavor to several other initiatives like Parivartan.
