The Institute of Biomedical Education & Research offers top-quality programs in Biotechnology and Pharmacy. The institute focuses on creating a strong research infrastructure for its students, training them to become expert contributors in their fields, in industry or in academics. Dr. G. K. Aseri is a distinguished Academic personality with Post Graduate in Microbiology from Jai Narain Vyas University - Jodhpur and Ph. D. in Microbial Technology from Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI - ICAR) in the year 1999 & 2001 respectively. He had been awarded with Senior Research Fellowship by ICAR Institute (CAZRI) in Microbial Technology and Plant Tissue Culture. Simultaneously, he was engaged in teaching as lecturer in JNVU from 2001- 2006. Dr. Aseri has worked for five years in Amity University as Deputy Director & Head of Amity Institute of Biotechnology. He has also received 'Young Scientist Award' in the year 2006 from Department of Science and Technology (Govt. of India) with one research project under SERC scheme entitled "Soil biological indicators" and has also completed his second research project recently with National Bamboo Mission "Ministry of Agriculture-Govt. of India" in collaboration with Amity University Uttar Pradesh. He has given consultancy to various Food & Beverage Industries (Bisleri, Kingfisher & Sri Ram Gums etc.) for Quality Control. He has published 30 research papers in International & National Research Journals and has also presented his research papers at International Conferences in Egypt, Germany & Bangkok.

Department Of Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology caters to students who wish to contribute in a significant manner to the understanding of various biological process. Biotechnology has immense potential to spur economic growth and enhance industrial productivity in an unprecedented manner. Biotechnology has opened up doors for newer kind of economic activity resulting in creation of new enterprises and revitalization of old enterprises and empowered us to address critical issues of healthcare, water and  food security  in a significant manner. Shortage of skilled technical manpower to manage and run the biotechnology enterprises is a major concern and requires a serious effort on part of institutions imparting biotechnology education. We at the Mangalayatan University are committed to give industry oriented quality education to our students.

Department Of Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmacy caters to students who wish to make their career in the ever growing pharmaceutical field. The branch deals with the research and development of medicines to cure various human diseases. Student of Pharmacy will have the opportunity to synthesize medicines in the  laboratory, test them on animals like mice and rabbit, develop formulations like tablets, capsules etc.  Major emphasis is also given on studies related to herbal drug and formulations.
We at IBMER not only prepare the students to excel in their studies but also guide them to take suitable careers and prepare students to develop the required set of skill to excel in their professional careers.

Pharmaceutics Laboratory

Laboratories for Pharmaceutics experimentation are equipped with specialized as well as conventional gadgets like Ovens, Shakers, Stirrers, Homogenizers, Tablet Machines, Capsule Filling Machines, Coating Pan, USP Dissolution Rate Apparatus, Disintegration Apparatus, and Friability Apparatus etc. The working platforms have adequate water, gas and electricity supply. Each laboratory has attached store room, balance room and instrument room.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory

Two laboratories for Pharmaceutical Chemistry experimentations are there in the Institute. Both of the laboratories have all working amenities including the bio-safety hood and attached storeroom, balance room and instrument room. The instrument room has HPLC binary system, Flame photometer, Fluorimeter, Infra red moisture balance and other sophisticated equipments.

Pharmacognosy Laboratory

Pharmacognosy laboratory is equipped with required gadgets like Camera Fitted Research Microscope, Muffle Furnace, Camera Lucida, Projection Microscope, TLC and Extractors etc. Laboratory has a collection of around 200 crude drug samples and is substantiated with medicinal plant garden.

 

Pharmacology Laboratory

Pharmacology laboratory has conventional equipments like Organ Bath, Operation Table, Haemocytometer, Haemoglobinometer, Analgesiometer, Convulsometer etc. An Animal house, which house rabbits, rats, guinea pigs etc. supports the laboratory.

Microbiology Laboratory

The microbiology laboratory is well equipped with all modern teaching and research facilities which includes sophisticated instruments like Laminar Air Flow Cabinet, Humidity cabinet, Hot Air Oven, Olmpus Microscope, Trinocular microscope, Orbital shaking incubator , BOD incubator, Bacteriological incubator, Colony counter, Microcentrifuge, Refrigerator, Digital pH meter, Magnetic stirrer with hot plate , Vortex shaker, Lypholizer and media filtration assembly etc.

Molecular Biology Laboratory

The molecular biology laboratory is well equipped to carry out different experiments for genetic engineering. The laboratory has various equipments including Gel Electrophoresis System, Gel Documentation System, Thermal cycler, Microcentrifuge, Dual Mini Vertical Electrophoresis System, High Precession Analytical Balance, VDRL shaker, Boiling Water Bath with Thermostat control, Micro centrifuge for PCR Tubes, Vortex Mixer, Magnetic stirrer, Magnetic stirrer with hot plate, Digital Spectrophotometer, PC based UV Spectrophotometer and Deep Freezer.

Proteomics Laboratory

The proteomics laboratory is well equipped to carry out different types of experiments for estimation of protein. The laboratory is equipped with High Performance Liquid Chromatography system, Image documentation and analysis systems, SDS-PAGE assembly, Digital Spectrophotometer, Sonicator, and High speed refrigerated centrifuge, etc.

Immunology Laboratory

The Immunology laboratory having sophisticated instruments like ELISA reader, SDS-PAGE, Western blots, Blood counting system, Inverted microscope, Immunoelectrophoresis assembly for conducting traditional to most modern immunological experiments.

Tissue Culture Laboratory

The Tissue culture laboratory is equipped with facility for culturing plant and animal cell .The tissue culture laboratory have number of sophisticated instruments for teaching and research like Laminar flow hood (biological safety cabinet), CO2 incubator, Inverted microscope, Pipette aid, Aspiration pump, Centrifuge, Water bath, refrigerator, Autoclave, Analytical balance, Vortex, Water purification system, pH meter, Magnetic stirrer, Micropipettor, Cell counter and Video camera etc
