Jai Jinendra Slogans Charged the Atmosphere
Panchkalyanak: 16-24 Dec: The Panch Kalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav of the newly engineered Shri Mahvir Swami Jain Temple commenced with jubilations, chanting of sacred mantras and unfurling of the religious flag amid the ceremonial processions. A Kalash Yatra was organized in Beswan’s Jain Temple and in this procession the parents of Teerthankar, Members of Indra Sabha (Indras and Indranis) were mounted on chariots. The stalls and accommodation in the university was termed ‘Ayodhyanagar’ during Panch Kalyanak. After the ceremonial procession Jinendra convocation took place and the (Dharmdhwaj) religious flag was unfurled in the sacred pillar installed in front of the temple. The role of Teerthanker’s mother and father was played by Smt. Beena Jain and Shri Rajendra Jain of Dehradun. On 17th Dec the main events meriting attention were Indra Pratistha and Indra Pratistha Shobhayatra or the ceremonial procession. More than 5000 people participated in this while chanting victory to lord Mahavir. The role of Yagyanayak couple was played by Shri Ajit Jain and Smt. Anita Jain of Baroda. On 18th Dec. following a sacred and grand Kalash Yatra the newly engineered Lord Mahavir Swami Jain temple was commissioned after Vedic consecration (Vedic Shuddhi) and religious ceremonies. The auspicious ceremony of Garbha Kalyanak was performed. Through his enlightened eye Maharaj Nabhirai gave queen Marudevi the good news of her conceiving Adiprabhu Garabhkalyanak. On Dec. 19, 2010 the birth coronation ceremony of Bal Teerthankar Rishabhdev was celebrated with 1008 Kalashas being carried to Vidhinayak atop Sumeru Parvat. On 20th December the eminent people of Jain community came up on stage and honoured Chairman BoG, Shri Pawan Jain by putting a turban to his head and presenting him an “Angvastra’, Shawl, Tilak and ‘Shreefal’. All present extolled his contribution to society in his welfare projects. The famous industrialist, Shri Rasiklal Dhariwal inaugurated the 51 feet high Keerti Stambh along with his wife Smt. Shobha and daughter Jahnvi. On 20th Dec. night Padmshri Shobhna Narayan won the hearts of the audience during a classical dance show.

The Tap Kalyanak was staged on 21st Dec. The eight day the Panchkalyanak ceremony culminated with ‘Kalashrohan’ and flag hoisting. At the crack of dawn Jinendra Abhishek took place and the sacred Dashbhakti Paath was conducted. The Moksha Kalyanak spectacle (renunciation) was staged beautifully atop Kailash Parvat in which all Indras and Indranis gracefully performed Mokshakalyanak Puja. The Jinendra Yatra was organized post Shantiyagy. Kalashrohan procedure was conducted by Shri Dilipbhai Anupbhai of Mumbai and the flag hosting (Dhwajarohan) ceremony was performed by Shri Ashok Patni and family from Singapore.

This ceremony was a thumping success. On an everyday basis 20,000 people participated in it and enjoyed sumptuous meals. The organizers had made stay arrangements for approximately 12,000 people. Devotees arrived from different parts of the country such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka etc. The overseas guests numbering around 400 came from England, America, South Africa and Muskat.
