There is no centralised entrance exam; instead, each state government organises its own test once a year to select candidates for the GNM Nursing programme in India. GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) Admission Eligibility Criteria after 12th
To apply for the GNM nursing course after 12th, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- The students must have completed 10+2 with English from a recognised senior secondary education board like ICSE/CBSE/State Board.
- The students must have a minimum of 45% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board.
- The students must be 17 years of age as of 31st December of the admitting year. The upper age limit is 35 yrs.
- Registered ANM with a pass mark can also apply.
GNM Course Duration in India:
GNM course is a three year diploma nursing course designed to develop competent and skilled nurses. The GNM admission is based on entrance exams conducted by the state government and some college direct admission based on 12th qualification. During the programme, students study core subjects includes subjects like Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Gynecological Nursing, gaining both theoretical knowledge and hands-on clinical experience.
