About the Department

Department of Visual & Performing arts was first established as Institute of Visual & Performing Arts in 2007. After two years, this institute had been renamed as Institute of Visual Performing Arts & Research in 2009. Due to operational changes and reorganization of institute structure, IVPAR was converted as Department of Visual & Performing Arts (DVPA) in 2015. At present, this department comes under the Faculty of Humanities. The department is working as a liaison between the academic excellence and flourishing inner talents of the students.

 

We do feel that qualified, dedicated and renowned faculty, vibrant holistic suitable campus environment for Fine Art, modern art gallery for displaying art objects; time-to-time implementation of collaborative projects with prime organizations such as U.P. Lalit Kala Academy, Sangeet Natak Academy, ICCR and ICHR etc.; recognition and award from national and international bodies for student performances are our inner strength.

DVPA is creating enough opportunities through enhancing knowledge regarding various art forms; participation in National & International Events; creating new job opportunities and helping society and its people for developing soft skills.

DVPA is fully prepared to take up the present day challenges of Fine art education through creating awareness among students and pertaining training of modern technology in the field of Fine Art; Developing new curriculum according to the current need; and creating more job opportunities among students.
